When to Order Thanksgiving Flowers in 2026

Now to Friday, Nov 20: best selection. Ideal for large centerpieces, multiple arrangements and office orders.
Monday, Nov 23: our recommended last day to order for the widest choice.
Tuesday, Nov 24: the most popular delivery day. Flowers have two days to open before Thursday.
Wednesday, Nov 25: last delivery day before Thanksgiving. Order by 1 PM for same-day flower delivery.
Thursday, Nov 26 (Thanksgiving Day): Closed, no deliveries.
Planning around your own schedule? Delivering on Tuesday lets you set the table early and keeps one thing off your Thursday to-do list.

Thanksgiving Centerpiece Sizes by Table

The right size depends on your table. Whatever size you choose, keep the arrangement under about 12 inches tall so guests can see each other across the table.
Round table for 4 (36–48 inches): one small, low centerpiece, about 10–12 inches wide.
Rectangular table for 6 (60–72 inches): one medium oval centerpiece, 14–18 inches long, or two small arrangements.
Table for 8–10 (84–96 inches): a long, low runner arrangement, 24–30 inches, or two medium centerpieces with candles between them.
Large family or banquet tables (12+): three small or medium arrangements spaced along the table. Call us and we’ll plan it with you.
Kitchen island, buffet or entry table: this is where height works. A taller arrangement makes a welcoming statement without blocking anyone.

Best Flowers for Thanksgiving Arrangements

Chrysanthemums: bronze, rust and gold mums are among the longest-lasting cut flowers.
Sunflowers: warm, cheerful and sturdy.
Roses: orange, peach and deep red for an elegant table.
Lilies and alstroemeria: height and color (skip lilies if guests bring cats or there’s a cat at home; they’re toxic to cats).
Berries, wheat, seeded eucalyptus and fall leaves: texture that says harvest.
Pumpkins and gourds: used as containers or tucked into centerpieces.

Popular Thanksgiving color palettes

Classic harvest: rust, burnt orange and gold with deep green foliage. Warm, traditional and always in style.
Soft and modern: cream, peach, blush and sage, with touches of copper. Beautiful with white plates and natural wood.
Rich and moody: burgundy, deep red and plum with dark foliage. Elegant for candlelit dinners.
Tell us your tablecloth or plate colors when you order, and our designers will match the arrangement to your table.

Thanksgiving Arrangement Ideas

For your own table
A low, long centerpiece of mums, roses and seasonal foliage, with candles on either side. Pick two main colors, such as rust and gold, plus one accent.
Hostess gifts
Bringing flowers to someone else’s Thanksgiving? Send them the day before, or bring an arrangement already in a vase so the host doesn’t have to stop cooking. A plant like the Tropical Orchid Garden Bowl lasts long after the holiday.
Sending to family far away
Can’t make it home to Houston this year? Send a centerpiece to the family table with a card that can be read before dinner: “Thankful for every one of you.”
Office and client gifts
Thanksgiving is a natural time to thank clients and teams. A reception arrangement or client gifts delivered the week before the holiday leave a warm impression. Businesses that order regularly can set up a House Account; see

Why order Thanksgiving flowers from a local Houston florist?

Thanksgiving week is busy for everyone, including florists, and that’s when ordering locally matters most. When you order directly from us, your centerpiece is designed in our Houston shop the day before delivery, not shipped in a box or passed along to an unknown florist. Our own drivers know Houston neighborhoods, gated communities and office buildings, and a real person answers the phone if you need to change a delivery time. That’s how we’ve earned 4.9 stars from more than 2,100 Google reviews.

Keeping Thanksgiving Flowers Fresh

Top up the water as soon as the flowers arrive; centerpieces drink a lot the first day.
Keep them away from the oven, stovetop, sunny windows and heating vents until it’s time to set the table.
Trim stems and refresh the water the night before Thanksgiving.
Remove any wilted blooms after the holiday; most arrangements last through the weekend.
